One thing i've noticed with using as photos as placemarks is that the labels can quickly obscure the picture. (esp. when lots of pictures are close) What I did with the export from geograph.co.uk, is to have them invisible and then appear when you hover over the picture, which i think works really well. Compare 15 latest images to the one with labels.(only enable one at a time!) Just save the resulting kml, to see how it done! For other Examples see this thread.
