Regarding the identification of the animals down there, let me add here after information I have gathered from an excellent documentary on TV in France ("In the nature with Stephane Peyron"). To be able to live in autonomy from their cattle, the Mongolian nomads use to have, or should have, FIVE species of domestic animals : - a few camels, to carry the yurts and furniture - cows or similar, milk and meat - goats, in particular Angora goats, for their wool, that they sell at good price in Ulan-Bator - sheeps, for their wool, meat, and milk - horses, as a specialy, a source of pride and cash A rather wealthy nomad family would have up to 1.000 heads of cattle. During the winter season, they first send the heavy animals to crush the icy snow crust, then the ligher animals which can get access to the grass under the now crushed snow. Therefore, down there on the picture, I would suggest that all those animals can be found, and because of the not so good resolution, it's difficult to identify which is which. Post Extras
