Hello James,
Thanks for the input, i reloaded the new version, logged off of the GE server, dumped the cache, rebooted the system and then zoomed out a bit and extended the time spand to max and allowed all instances of the waves to completely load.
it was Running great, and the "colors" in Direct X mode with the new version are no longer tainted.
i rebooted again , reloaded the model and the same error occured, blinking water while annimation is running.
I zoomed out a bit and the water appeared, zoomed back in and the water maintained presence.
in the kml i used tilt, roll, elevation settings for ship movement. some of the tilt settings are negative values.
with the new version i notice the ship's stern is now extruding too high in some instances.
am thinking the error is a combination of the ship settings (neg. values and such) combined with the initial point of view that model loads with.
things i will look at later on ...... "exaggerated stern elevation" "have to zoom out to clear blinking water " "negative values and other ship settings for tilt / roll/ altitude"
****
if i alter the the ships settings for the new version, it will not be downward compatible for older GE version viewing
created new kmz with altered ship settings, tilt values, set absolute altitude for raised stern, set new initial startup view, for GE ver 4.0.2693, Dec162006
altered kmz for GE ver 4.0.2693, Dec162006 is here
************** The new version seems to run a bit smoother.
in ref. to the Ferris Wheel , the same here opposite rotation.
Such a beautiful model, hopefully you will not have too much work in front of you to correct, maybe if you place it on the other side of the globe, 180deg. the rotation error will go away? (picking at you)
