Mud baths outdoors of Pagan Murcia muds base their therapeutic action on their great power of absorption, its mineralizante action, its capacity to neutralize the acidity and its stimulating effect of the healing, reason why its use is very recommendable in many types of pathologies of the skin, like abscesses, ulcers, flemones, sores, acne or forúnculos. A mud layer applied on the skin absorbs all toxins of the peripheral system of the conjuntivo weave and eliminates lymphatic toxics of the dermis, acting like a true drying paper of the skin. Its high power of caloric conductivity them also makes appropriate like antiinflammatory in cases of reumatismo, arthritis, drop and rehabilitations after bony fractures. Also they are recommendable for throat affections.

Which is the translation of this post, in Spanish, about an area just a few km north:

It could be possible that this was a similar area when sea level was a bit lower. Or it could have been salt evaporation pans. So perhaps the area has been investigated and ignored, for now at least, in a region rich with archaeological finds. It's very hard to believe that this area has been missed prior to this.
