I have looked at the feature you described and it is an intriguing structure. There is no name attached to it in Google Earth and it certainly is not on the impact lists. It could well be an ancient caldera as you suggest. A nice first find
In relation to creating placemarks you just centre the object in the view and click Add (next to tools on the pull down menu at the top) and click on Placemark. You can then edit it and move the placemark in the window into the correct position. If you then save it to your HDD you will be able to include it in a post on Keyhole as a placemark for others to download. I hope this has helped.
