I've put together a layer that details the area around The Strip in Paradise, Nevada. There's some general information about the Strip on the red placemarks, as well as specific information of all casinos, and photos of most of them, on the yellow placemarks.

You can take a tour by simply clicking the play button on the folder, or expand the contents to look at individual places. For best results, view in the Google Earth software and turn on 3D buildings, though be warned - this works better on high-specification computers!

All content is taken from the Las Vegas Strip page on Wikipedia.

There are some other collections of information, overlays and pictures of the Strip in the Google Earth community here:

I've only put a few layers together in the past, so any feedback would be much appreciated. Also if you have any comments or questions, please reply here or drop me a message. I'll be checking back!

Hello

Please enable your GEC layers to see what has been already placemarked.

That helps to avoid multiple placemarks to the same object. Thanks.

Regards, Felippo

Hi Felippo,

Thanks for the message. My aim with this layer was to tie a lot of existing placemarks together and show them in one layer, rather than marking new places. Almost all the placemarks in my collection have images and text, and some have videos associated too.

I've tried to create a comprehensive guide to the Strip with useful information, and so if there are any other places that you think are glaring omissions from the collection, then please let me know and I'll add them.

Thanks!

They are still duplicates of existing posts, all you have done is create more "i" spots . This is what Felippo is trying to convey to you.

Hello waytoblue

I like your placemark with all the informations and photos. And maybee you are right when you think that your placemark is more relevant than the other ones in LV. But thats not the point.

Tomorrow another guy comes with better photos and more useful information than you have. And then? In ten years every hotel in LV has 20 - 50 placemarks like the pyramids in giza, the eiffel tower...... and thats not useful.

Please take a minute and think about that, but don't feel pressurized to delete your placemark.

Best Regards, Felippo

Okay. I'll bear that in mind for the future. I've never used the i marks in the software before (I didn't even know they existed!), I've only ever browsed the community through the message boards, so I didn't think about that perspective.

I'll leave it up, if it's okay, and I'll know in the future not to build collections of existing placemarks.

My apologies.
