I can't believe there isn't a single post dedicated to locate all the places mentioned in the books
At least I couldn't find one - the only mention to O'Brian I found is on a thread conserning tall ships.

So my suggestion is that we use this thread as a collection of all Aubrey/Maturin placemarks. And to start at the beginning - here is Port Mahon.

(If you don't have a clue what this is about rush to a bookstore and buy "Master & Commander" by Patrick O'Brian)

The obvious Admiralty HQ and Trafalgar Square are already swarmed with placemarks, so I won't do those, but I'll see if I can locate any others.

A couple places I could locate off the top of my head. I'm rereading now, just in th emiddle of Mauritius Command, so I should start marking down locations and marks as it occurs to me.

I think Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series is a tremendous piece of literature. The 20 books plus the unfinished "21" really are one extended work. One flows right into the other. Besides "Harbors and High Seas", there are some excellent web resources. Here are four:
Patrick O'Brian Web Resources
The World of Patrick O'Brian
The Patrick O"Brian Compendium
The Patrick O'Brian Novels
Each of the above sites has links to others.
This is a project I thought of starting soon after I subscribed to what was then Keyhole. But I never got around to it. I'm glad to see that someone got it started. I hope I can contribute to this thread in the future.
