I don't have my own section like the all-seeing seer, so I thought I would go ahead and post here in the favorites. I always wanted to post pictures to eta's I have actually been to, and had a chance to visit Las Vegas for the first time last March. (I brought along a couple of EV screen captures to guide me). It is a popular place among EVer's, so there may be some close postings.
See Aladdin's Overlays
We stayed at the Excalibur (eta here), not because of the medieval theme, but because it was a decent price for a hotel on the strip. Turned out real nice, huge hotel, lost some, won some, great location, great staff..they kept feeding me free drinks...life can't get better than that. Significant because here is the site of the largest slot winning, some $13M or so (wasn't me!)
All photos taken with Pentax Optio 550, 5MP pictures greatly reduced for the web.

Down the road, or more correctly down the overhead tramway, is the Luxor, the Egyptian theme extravaganza. The Luxor, Excalibur, Circus Circus and Mandalay Bay are all owned by the same companythink they are making money? The Luxor is quite a place, I wasnt impressed with the gambling or the prices, but the architecture is pretty interesting. See dtoronto's post of the entrance way (my picture below)

I had posted this earlier ( World's Most Expensive Street) so it was a real thrill to visit it in person. Every hour at night the street lights up to one unbelievable sound system, a different theme music each time. Truly awesome to experience. It was even worth the bus trip loaded with drunks to/from south Vegas!
Looking up...

Previously posted by Lrae and periboob , the Stratosphere is an impressive tower, perhaps even more impressive are the rides on toponly in Vegas. Eta shows a closeup of the roller coaster and drop tower on top, but a new addition is the X Scream (not in the EV view)a cantilever ride that rolls people 30 miles an hour off into space at 866 feet up. I didnt do it this time, but I am vowing to do it next visit (Vegas odds are 2 to 1 I will chicken out!)
X Scream attraction

Memorable for the place of Siegfried and Roy, the Mirage is also known for the active volcano that goes off every 15 minutes 8pm to midnight. Waited a long time for the first free show at 8pm, seemed kind of anti-climatic, though the time spent waiting by the pool and falls talking to folks was enjoyable. Didn't get a chance to check out the many Mirage attractions this trip, but will the next. Picture shows the hotel and some of the falls at night (my favorite time to take pictures), the volcano is off to the right (and is visible in the eta).

Looking north from the Eiffel, you can see (up the right side), Ballys, the Boardwalk, Flamingo, the Venetian and with the tower cranes, the upcoming Wynn Las Vegas (to be the largest hotel in the world I am told) and the tip of the Stratosphere between he cranes. On the left you can see the construction around Caesars Palace, the Mirage, and straight up, Treasure Island. See pics of Steve Wynn's hotels (builder of the Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas)
