This is where according to maps the monitor HMVS "Cerberus" should lie. It was laid down in 1871 and one of the first monitor ships put into service by Great Britain as a reaction to the rise of the ironclad in the American Civil War. In an adventurous cruise, it came around the world to Melbourne to serve for harbour defense and was kept in service until 1911 when it was reassigned as a guard and stores vessel. It was sunk to serve as a breakwater outside Half Moon Bay on September 2 1926 and the remains still lie there.

Tall ships and tall kings,
Three times three,
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree.
