Hello MotoDude!
There seems to be a problem with .NET Framework 2.0. I tried to install your tool but it still wants me to download the version 1.11... of the .NET Framework. Is it not possible to use your tool together with version 2.0+?
Greetings!

Just created yet another new build. Sorry about the frequent updates, this should be it for a while unless there are some bugs. Added functionality includes HotKeys that adjust the range and tilt. Also made some minor changes to increase overall efficiency. Download it here: Version 1.02

Hi, and thanks to Motodude for his hard work and effort. Beautifull app and well gui'ed.
Unfortunately though I do have a problem, I know I know... I'm a whinger.
Ok, so here's my problem. I'm using a GN74 Furuno GPS module which outputs nmea 0183 data at 4800 8N1 with no hardware flow control. It is run through a Max232 ( TTL to RS232 Converter IC) to the Pc. I'm an electronics tech and the circuit is fine. It just streams out the gps data and I have no problems with the data stream in apps such as Netstumbler (the famous Wireless Lan locating software). So I can only assume that the data flow is correct and valid. Does your program need some sort of flow control? Xon and Xoff etc to run?
I've configured the program and serial ports accordingly and have no problems in other software, But nmeage does not recognise the data.
It says, "Waiting for GPS signal", after a couple seconds says fix quality none, then about 20seconds switches off GPS searching.
The data is pouring in fine, but I'm unsure how to make it recognise my NMEA stream?
Here is whats streaming in the com port (captured by hyperterminal)
$GPGGA,232516,2726.4431,S,15302.2131,E,1,08,02.20,000003.8,M,0041.3,M,, $GPZDA,232516,20,12,2005,+00,00 $GPGSV,3,1,10,01,36,318,48,03,39,278,46,09,15,126,00,14,77,302,47 $GPGSV,3,2,10,15,54,073,47,18,27,123,46,19,27,237,50,21,27,057,52 $GPGSV,3,3,10,22,53,167,49,25,08,354,00 $GPVTG,093.0,T,081.7,M,000.0,N,0000.0,K
Is this a correct and valid stream for NMEAGE? and if your googling earth, put my location in and give me a wave!
For some reason. It just doesn't see the data stream? Any ideas?

Hello MotoDude!
With the new version 1.02 of the nmeaGE tool it is now possible to connect to the NAVPILOTII GPS mouse. Unfortunately, the location within the KML file has a wrong format.
Instead of the following lines
<longitude>12.6254483333333</longitude> <latitude>42.5243733333333</latitude> ... <coordinates>12.6254483333333,42.5243733333333</coordinates>
the KML file contains these lines:
<longitude>12,6257416666667</longitude> <latitude>42,52467</latitude> ... <coordinates>12,6257416666667,42,52467</coordinates>
If you import the second KML file into Google Earth, longitude becomes "12" and latitude becomes "6257416666667". Can you please change this format? Thank you!
(I'm using Windows XP with the German charset / language).

Thanks Motodude for your excellent GPS utility. I've got GE Plus on my PC and the free GE version on my laptop. Your program works on both versions.
"My House" appears about 100 yards from where it should be - using my laptop, ge, your utility, and my new Holux gps mouse.
I've proved the gps accurate to 5 metres, by trying it with other aerial photos, (including screenshots from GE), calibrated using a number of known points with ozi-explorer.
It looks like GE (or at least the hi-definition photo overlay) is not very accurate for my area - (Noosa, Qld, Australia). Certainly couldn't use it for driving in the dark!
Does anyone know how accurate GE is around the world? I guess it varies from tile to tile?
