This is a view from to the SE by the Superdome ...

Water is apparently knee deep in the superdome...

Edit: I updated the kmz and moved it to my host, so the image should be quicker to download.

Wow.... what a horrifying picture. I wish we could have a more extensive image. The flooding in that small area is so catastrophic!

Where did you grab that from?

That came from http://www.nola.com/hurricane/photos/

I'm trying to overlay as many arial pictures as I can find.

Notice that this spot isn't on the FEMA overlay, but it's below sea level on the LSU elevation profile, and it's clearly flooded. We'll eventually get a good high-res of the whole city.

All - I've been following this thread with interest. A good friend of my mother's has a house at 617 Gallier Street, just off of Chartres in New Orleans and is a refugee right now in Mississippi. I can see her home in Google Earth, but can't see to figure out how to overlay the latest images that would show flooding. Please help!
