Mikhail Bulgakov based many of the locations in his famous novel "The Master and Margarita" on real locations all over the world, principally in Moscow and Jerusalem. There is a small tour industry built around visiting these places, especially in Moscow, as they allow the reader to connect with the novel in yet another way.
