The Chinese village of YINGXIU, the closet town to the very center of the May 12, 2008 earthquake, is located at the exact spot of this pin. It was reported on May 14th that rescuers had just now reached this village and reported that of its 10,000 residents that only about 3,300 had survived.YINGXIU is also apparently known in Chinese as 'Ying-hsiu-wan'. The village is located on the riverbank of a small river which can be seen in the Google Earth image, when zoomed in at this location.
