That ought to be a great shot! I still recall one of JPII's funeral which was attended by what looked like half of Rome, but the resolution wasn't as good.

Google Lat Long Blog has now posted an even higher resolution kml. The image was taken at satellite view of the ceremony was taken at 11:19am (Eastern) by the GeoEye-1 satellite as it passed overhead.the mall was still filling with people at this time. You can see Marine One, the helicopter used for transporting the President parked just east of the Capitol Building. You can also see moving vans in the South driveway of the White House.
