Hello everyone, this is my third collection for Google Earth. This time, It's an immersion into the dark side of Modern America. So, I've found exact (or sometimes nearby) locations of notorious or horrible crimes which took place in USA during the last two centuries. Serial killers related places are included. Also I found all the death rows across USA. This file contains 3 parts : - Crime Scenes : notorious murder, killing spree, unsolved case ... - Serial killers related places : home, capture site, ... - Death Rows & Death Chambers locations : where most of this criminals land up. Caution : This is not an apologia to murder. It's just a historical flashback about notable events on criminal studies. This file is not exhaustive so If you find mistakes or notable cases not mentionned, please leave me a message. For more informations about notorious crimes, visit Crime Library Examples of placemarks : Wonderland murders in 1981 John Wayne Gacy former house in Chicago California's death row at San Quentin

Sam034 -
Excellent 5-star post! This is fascinating, if macabre, information. I remember hearing about quite a few of these murders in the news.
Regards, Diane Thanks for your comment Diane. Even here, in France, some of this cases were well-documented in the medias.

You might want to put in one of the most famous/infamous deaths in South Texas. The shooting death of Selena Quintanilla-Prez.

Please don't take offense, Sam, but honestly, I don't like the subject matter, and I also don't like the fact that it's restricted to the U.S. murders and murderers. America may or may not be more murderous than other countries (I really don't know one way or the other), but you've chosen to single out one country on the globe while excluding all the others. Is it just because our crime is so publicized?
There are so many other (positive) things to look at on Google Earth, I don't want to waste my time looking at the ghoulishness of America.

I worked on this subject because I'm very interested by criminal studies and I wanted to illustrate this by a project on Google Earth like I did about Ice Hockey or Cinema. And that's true, crimes in USA is not only very publicized but also very-well documented so it's more easy to work on. Even here in France, apart "Jack The Ripper", US murder cases are more often quoted in medias than european cases. I mentionned "The dark side of America" because America have so many beautiful sides and, trust in me, I love your country. It's not an affront against America. I could extend my file to England or maybe France and Germany in future. I wish to made it clear that's not a project about ghoulish fascination or adoration to crimes it's only about criminal informations. So if others GooogleEarthers think this project is a waste of time or too macabre, I withdraw it from GEC. Regards Sam

Hi Sam I seriously hope that you will not delete this project. You've put a lot of time and effort into a very interesting topic and it fully deserves to be in the Moderated Forum. There are thousands of topics on Google Earth, and many which I have little or no interest in, so I don't read them (other than as a Moderator to ensure there isn't a problem with the post!).....so don't worry that some people may find your post unsuitable or unpleasant, as they have the option to not read any further. Unfortunately we can't please everyone, but I would hate to think that all your hard work would go to waste. There are so many other (positive) things to look at on Google Earth, I don't want to waste my time looking at the ghoulishness of America. Markopolo, please don't take this as a criticism of your comments - it's just to say that we all have different interests, and there is enough on Google Earth to keep everyone happy. If you find a topic that you don't like, then simply don't read any further. I hope both of you will keep up the good work
