My first foray into uploading info to the Google Earth community. Here's the likely alignment of the stream known as Woodbury Creek in North Pasadena, based on topos of the 1928 Altadena USGS quadrangle map.

sad isnt it? I've posted several hidden or burried urban creeks, particularly in the SF Bay Area. Such wonderful works in the name of flood control! Nothing is sacred. We should never have built on flood plains or wetlands. These riparian habitats should have all been protected and made into walking greenways. Never too late to daylight them.

Thanks for replying. I have large areas of LA basin streams mapped in GIS, but don't know how to transfer that efficiently into GoogleEarth. There are slight inaccuracies that come through when I make a .png and stretch to locate them.

Yes, it is such a loss to culvert these streams. Imagine how much less severe urban heat island effect would be with riparian corridors preserved in cities!

I've had the same problem with posting overlay maps; slight inaccuracies when I stretch to locate them. I presume they are either discrepencies in the older triangulations, or maybe even different projection styles. But the information and historical value I think far outweigh these inaccuracies, and therefore I would say do them anyway.
