I have posted the locations (placemarks) for all Earth extremes in temperature and height. Included are the tallest/lowest points of elevation for every continent (along with some other famous mountains). There are some certain areas of disagreements regarding the temperatures. All the temperatures listed are according to a atlas book. Elevations listed are according to the atlas and other reseach I used. There is one image overlay for the mountain in Antartica (not placed exactly on target or in scale). Also, Antartica's lowest elevation is sea level. With each placemark the name includes the location (country and [if applies] city) and facts (elevation [feet], temperature [F]) are given.

Each Continent's...
Lowest Recorded Temperatures {and the city from which it was recorded} (F)
Highest Recorded Temperatures {and the city from which it was recorded} (F)
Highest Elevation {and the country in which it is located} (feet)
Lowest Elevation {and the country in which it is located} (feet)

Just Added...
Mount Cook of New Zealand
Carstensz Pyramid (or Puncak Jaya) of Papua Province, Indonesia
Mt. Godwin-Austen (K2), Pakistan-China
North and South Magnetic Poles (not the Geographic Poles)

Very interesting post. But using international system of metrics (C instead of F, meters instead of feet, etc.) would be largely more usable.

Your location for Denali (Mount McKinley) in Alaska is too far north and there is already a placemark for the true summit. Is there a way you can link to the existing placemark instead of adding another?

Probably for YOU :-). But rightly, it should be in SI units for the benefit of the majority of users.

Or both....

I use both!! I prefer Celsius, but measure in feet and inches! I don't know what a kilometre looks like, and like my beer in pints, not litres. I also prefer weighing things in kilograms, not pounds!

I try to post using both systems but don't always remember to. If I want to convert, Google Search is an easy source. In the search box type, for instance, 100 F = ? C and immediately get 100 degrees Fahrenheit = 37.7777778 degrees Celsius. I usually do a little rounding to neaten things up a bit - call it 38C, good enough for most purposes.

So it would be nice if posters used both units, but if they don't, there is an easy solution.

Most of what you have "published" is simply false data.
You didn't do a correct research. Instead you obviously quickly put together some collected data from whatever sources ...
Besides, if you publish something like that for an international community, then, please, use an international system.
Thank you

Hello jhstha,

The poster you are replying to made his post over 4 years ago. If you as another user have better data or another way of presenting it, please do so. This forum is a collaborative effort and is most effective when we work together.

Simply saying "You are wrong and you could have done better" doesn't really help at all.
