It looks like EC-EVK in Madrid Spain has been sold. Qantas founders museum are sending a team over in the next few weeks to purchase, do the required checks and maintenance, then fly her back to Longreach Australia.

Hi Catalina fans.
My interest in the Catalina comes from the fact that my Dad was a pilot in the RAF Coastal Command during the War and spent many hundreds of hours flying this fantastic plane on U-Boat patrols.
I now make hand-crafted decorative wooden plaques in various styles, but am working on some special Catalina theme versions. Here are some pictures:

The twist that you guys out there might be interested in, is that I can make plaques to order featuring your own photo. If you can email me a sharp, good quality photo of at least 300dpi I can turn it into a special hand-made wooden plaque.

That amazing plane was also one of the first aircrafts used by air ambulance services.
