Original delivery to Citicorp as PH-AAI on 26/07/1978. After that pass to Viasa on 21/7/1978 as YV-135C. While landing in poor weather conditions, go into in aquaplaning and ran off the runway on november 26, 1993 about 06:20hs (local time)
DC-8-33 (LV-LPT, cn 45255/7)
Parked at "EZE’s 'corrosion corner" (also and best know as "Chivatos"). This DC-8 arrived on april 10th 1976. It flew many charter flights, under TRAFA S.A., including many flights from Accra, Ghana to Makkah (Mecca) in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj, transporting pilgrims. But after losing traffic rights, it ceased operations in 1978 and the DC-8 was grounded. It didn’t return to the lessor because it was in unflying conditions, and there it stays until now. It suffered a cabin fire on 13 dec 1992.
