As promised, the updated crude refinery location map is complete. There are 658 refineries included based on the Oil & Gas Journal 2006 Worldwide Refining Survey. Each marker has the refinery name, number, crude capacity, website link, Wikipedia link, company logo and facility image. If none was found, defaults are inserted. Undoubtedly there are errors and missing info so if anything is spotted, please post a correction. All the previously posted corrections have been included. Cheers, Mark

In Thailand, you have listed Alliance Refining Co in Map Ta Phut as being Chevron and 150kbpd. In fact, ARC consists of two refineries, the Chevron/PTT joint venture already mentioned and the (previously) Shell/PTT joint venture which Shell sold and is now 100% PTT. Both are more or less 150kbpd. On Goggle Earth, the locations are switched - the north refinery is the Chevron/PTT site and the south refinery is the PTT site. Shell has no ownership since 2005. The two refineries are in the process of dissolving their alliance and will revert to two seperate companies in 2009.

Valero Memphis Refinery (which is up for sale) is indicated in the wrong location (actually a DuPont facility). It should be:

35 5'3.30"N, 90 4'54.15"W

In Sarnia/Corunna, the Nova Chemical facility is incorrectly shown at the location of Shell refinery, and the Shell refinery is shown in the wrong location. The Nova Chemical facility is primarily a chemical plant and not a refinery. It does produce some refinery-type products "on the side." Nova's correct location is at
4252'54.40"N, 8224'21.36"W
for those who want to consider it a "refinery."

Also, the "Sunoco" Sarnia refinery is actually now Suncor, and the location should be moved to the south (across the street from current location). I'm not entirely sure, but I think the current location is actually part of the larger Imperial Oil complex.
