You mention the ExxonMobil Antwerp Refinery. That is not right. It should be the Dow Chemical Company in Terneuzen.

Best regards,

your location for total fina elf refinery in milford haven wales uk is wrong,
the location you selected used to be the esso refinery which closed some years ago and became a tank farm for crude oil owned by petroplus, additionally the site recently started the construction of a liquified natural gas terminal

location 52"41'30.90"N 4"59'34.83"W

correct location for the refinery is:-
51"44'14.69"N 5"03'54.41"W
hope this helps

Thanks for this new tool! This should save a lot of everyone's time in doing their own updates piecemeal, as well as all the duplicate posts.

Once this gets settled, I suppose you can post a new "master" kml file to update roadrunner's original effort.

I've tried to go through and make updates and corrections according to past posts and my own research. I also have a couple dozen refineries to add to the list (when I get the chance) - unless somebody else beats me to it.

Please somebody, confirm the Sudan refineries. It seems that the "El Gily" and "Khartoum" refineries may be one and the same (the refinery which is a venture between CNPC and the Sudan government.

There also appears to be some inconsistency in what is considered a "refinery" (for example, asphalt refineries, crude upgraders, hydroskimming facilities, lube oil facilities, etc.). There was a post a while back about the Prudhoe Bay facilities which are listed as refineries but which are basically only separation facilities. Perhaps those in the know could confirm whether these (and any other) listings should be deleted? I'm guessing there are several mothballed refineries listed which should either be noted as inactive or deleted from the list entirely.

One of the placemark in Turkey is totally misplaced!! It's shown as "Tupras Aliaga Refinery" but it is Cigli wastewater treatment plant!!!! Zoom a little than you'll be sure it is not a refinery!!

Also, the name is incorrect. It is actually the "Izmir" refinery per Tupras website. There have already been posts correctly locating it about 2 km to the NNE.

dear all,

let me correct your information.
first, i'll introduce that i have been working for 15 years in pertamina , the only one oil refinery operator in indonesia.

the place which you had submited as sungai pakning refinery (259" 54.87" S 10450'00.14" E) is wrong. it is Musi Refinery with 145.000 bcd capacity. the real sungai pakning refinery is at 140'42.51" N 10128'19.86" E, dear dumai city.

The indicated position in Port Sudan is not relevant to a refinery, but the one for a domestic distribution depot.
Port Sudan refinery, an old 26,000 BBLD, is located along the road connecting the city with the airport, sea side. The refinery is owned by Ministry of Energy and Mining.

The shown position is not relevant to MIDOR Refinery.
The correct position for MIDOR Refinery is N 3101'21" E 2945'55".

I have partecipated to the design of such refinery from 1997 to 1999.

Welcome!
Your help in clarifying the positions of the Musi and/or Pangkalan Brandan refineries would be greatly appreciated! (It doesn't help matters that Wikipedia is showing different refinery names than are used on Pertamina's web site.

Thanks,
