I will swear to you that the best pizza I ever ate was at De Angelo's Pizza in Frankfurt Germany. It was across the street from Edwards Kaserne which was a U.S. military complex that housed thousands of GI's. It was made famous in the movie GI Blues starring Elvis (you can see the front gate with the famous horse statue standing on its hind quarters!) The horse was black but some GI's painted the testicles red sometime in the 70's!!!! Don't know if it is still there since the U.S. military vacated it in the late 90's. Anybody out there know if De Angelo's is still there???

But Edwards Kaserne seems to be gone.

Fred, I want to thank you very much!!! My wife and I met in Germany and fondly remember the hand-made pizzas of Da Angelo. It became a regular stop while we dated!!!
