That's the Elevation Exxageration in the Preferences box where you can increase the elevation gradiant. I usually keep mine set at 1.5 Seems like the right balance for me.
Good post, too, Hill. It's kinda wierd that Connecticut's high point is not a summit, but just a point on the side of a hill.
Don't ya love them latlon guys!

Hill, You and I must have much the same interests. I posted the La Conchita mudslide after you did (sorry that I did not search first). Then an overlay of the mudslide. I was working on the highest point in each state when, all of a sudden you come up with it. Keep up the good work, and I'll see if I can help you out on some of the info.

Yes, now I've done it twice . For the exaggeration setting: 1. Click on file in the viewer. 2. Click on preferences - your only choice. 3. Choose the view tab. In rendering you can type in any value from 1-3. I usually keep mine set at 1, but sometimes set it higher to make more subtle features stand out better. BTW, have you ever downloaded an attachment and found that the placemark tried to bury itself in the ground? Whoever posted did so with 3d off and your is on. Click the screen button off and you'll see the post the way they intended.

Reposting happens, we try to keep it to a minimum is all. Were you using the Lat-Long.com site? It got almost all of them. Some of those flat states, like Delaware for instance, have no real peaks, just a gradual increase of altitude away from sea level. Four or five took about as much work as the other 45 or so put together. Americasroof.com and Highpointers.org are good for extra details, including pictures, from many of the high points. I used them both to help me with Delaware and a couple of others. Hill
