This was a real pain-in-the-b*** ... like a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces don't fit together well. Every one of the rotations was off just a bit!

If you would like to spruce-up this post, read my suggestion.

For each area code, create a polygon for each area (see the attachment). This would make the information more accurate and more readable.

Myself (and the help of another other moderator) have worked to get you on your way with the Area Code Polygon idea. See the attachment with some improved polygon area codes.

We would really like to see you do this. It could be very useful in the future. But, if you choose not to do it, that is fine. Someone else can take on this challenge.

Very cool & clean. I'll probably have to pass on continuing the KMZ for now. I needed a quick & dirty "tool" to be able to find codes and tho I could simply click around that website on the net, I like to use GE.

I noticed you selected states w/ only 1 code. How difficult do the others become when you have many polygons?

(Keyhole newbie warning) Earlier posts showed polygon maps of a few single-area code states. Is there a placemark link that will show all area codes in the US & Canada now that they're finished? Thanks.

When Tommy said "Complete," he meant he had the overlays completed. I created polygons for a few area codes to give Tommy a suggestion. Either he is still working on it, or has decided not to do it. I know you are new, but if you are interested, you can most certainly take this task for yourself.

Thanks for the info. I'll just wait to see if someone else finishes it. I don't have time to research this at the moment.

Way too busy at work and really want to finish up other loose ends I've started, not the least of which is my Missions of Baja California KML.

If anyone else want to do the area codes KML, knock yourself out! I'm sure there will be yet more codes in the future.
