Very interesting. US cities had a huge network of trams across the country before the auto-age. Might be something to get back to considering the greenhouse effect.

Very much so!

It's been the same in London. Up until the 1950s there was a huge number of Trams here.

Then, almost 50 years later, we realised that they were quite good after all and the first tram modern tram system opened in 2000. There are now plans for a couple more of these systems here.
