I'm using the network KML feature to follow a moving node. The problem is that, even if I have the node selected, it won't recenter on the node if the node moves. Is there a way to reselect the node so that I can psuedo follow it around the world?

If you search around the fora, you'll discover other posts seeking ways to force automatic tracking of a "moving" placemark. The method I use is to generate two placemarks inside a network link, and then use an infinite-loop tour between them. It's kludgy, but it does work nicely. If you spend the time tweaking one of the kml files to be just the tiniest bit offset from the first, the jump between the two files is barely noticible.

(Bear in mind, though, that an update is on the way. It's possible that these issues will be addressed.)

Sorry I'm slow on this. The automatic loop is generated by making the tour in Keyhole, and not the kml file right? Yeah, I hope this gets fixed. It would help a lot. And by the offset, you mean setting one to 3 seconds, and the other to 4 seconds, for a periodic refresh?
thanks!!

Yes, you'll find the tour settings in the preferences panel.

Sorry I wasn't clear about the offset. If you're using perl or php (or some other server-side script) to feed new placemark data (with the <view> tags), the optimal offset depends on a number of things, such as your tour speed and pause time, and the refresh rate. A value of somewhere between 1.0 and 2.5 seconds works best for the majority of (my) cases, but, as I said, you need to tweak. There's no real solution to this (yet).

ink, I have the same problem to follow a moving placemark using network link. Do you have any KML example that you can post on forums? thanks.
