Wow. That's great again - thank you John.

So she was built in Chester, which is where I grew up coincidentally (!)

You should beware of the numerous 'copycats' at GEC! Your Lancaster find has got many duplicate placemarks lately.

You are probably already aware of this, but I don't have the heart to wade through all the postings on this subject. If you look a little to the north, north west of your bomber at the Brampton Wyton RAF airbase you will see a large number of cars parked on the taxis ways, and access roads. Your bomber could well be the star attraction of an airshow. If you've already been told of this a million times, my apologies....John

The Sun has run an article on this plane.
Google's Ghost Bomber

Someone duplicate posted it and i saw Frank_McVey mention the article so I figured id look and post it.

Your name was not in the newspaper. I scanned the original article and put it in THIS POST and quoted the whole article. No names were mentioned in the text. The finder was referred to as, and I quote "...a British web user...".

SergioL was the first to find the aircraft on Google Earth, as is clearly evident at the beginning of the thread.

Your placemark was probably deleted because it was a duplicate of SergioL's (he spotted it when looking at his house. He lives under that Lancaster).
