I know there is another thread related to Back To The Future filming locations but this is slightly different.

This is a collection of all the major (and some not so major) filming locations from the Back To The Future Trilogy. There are 28 Locations in total (including some extra places of BTTF interest)

Each placemark has some information a link to more information and also a link to the same spot on Virtual Earth - if you havent used VE before you can view most of the area in their Bird's eye view which lets you see high detail images from four direction. (it's worth a look around Universal Studios on VE while you are there, some very interesting sites to be seen on the Bird's eye view).

NOTE: to any moderator/admin - I don't think there are any exact duplicate placemarks, there are some in the same area but I wanted to add information to the placemark so had to create a new one, also some previous placemarks are slightly off.

Oh by the way if anyone spots a mistake in any of these please let me know, my brain got a bit boggled by the end

I am also working on a collection of yet un-found locations such as the drive-in and Hillvalley 1885 from BTTF3.

Nice collection

The little California town of 'Hill Valley' is, of course, fictitious the town square was built at Universal Studios but you can see most of the other locations from the movie around LA. Best of all is the stunning house of Doc Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd), the 1908 Gamble House, one of LA's great architectural joys, 4 Westmoreland Place in Pasadena, just a little to the south of the Pasadena Historical Society.

In the 80s, the Doc's house has supposedly burned down and he's living in his former garage, now sited behind a burger bar. The garage was constructed in the rear of Burger King, 535 North Victory Boulevard in Burbank (the same stretch of road is featured in Memento).

The houses of Marty McFly's mom-to-be, Lorraine (Lea Thompson), and that big lummock, Biff, can also be seen in Pasadena, though 'Hill Valley High' and the 'Twin Pines Mall' can both be found way to the southeast of the city. The high school is Whittier Union High School, 12417 Philadelphia Street at Pierce Avenue (it's where Richard Nixon graduated in 1930).

To the east of Whittier, in the anonymous sprawl of industrial estates aptly called City of Industry, is the mall, where Doc Emmett gets gunned down by irate Libyans. It's the Puente Hills Mall, on the southeast corner of the Pomona Freeway exit, Highway 60, at Azusa Avenue.

Just out of interest is there any film locations anyone wants finding? I am planning on sticking to American ones for now and was thinking of doing The Blues Brothers next, but if anyone has anything specific let me know

EDIT - Maybe not Blues Brothers, looks like that is pretty much placemarked now.

Thanks for making this BTTF collection, I have spent some time viewing it and reading the sites you have linked to. An excellent job.

If you reaIly fancy having a crack at it. I have a few movies I would like to find the locations for:

Bullitt (1968) [IMDB]
Dazed and Confused (1993) [IMDB]
The Silence of the Lambs (1991) [IMDB]
Stir of Echoes (1999) [IMDB]
The Thomas Crown Affair (1968)(1999) [IMDB][IMDB]
Wargames (1983) [IMDB]

I have not searched the forum to see if any of them already exist, so if they do forget it and I'll get round to getting them in my own time.

Good Luck.

Glad you like it. I will have a look see what I can come up with for those films

I am Currently working on The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (2005) film. Amazing, though most of it is filming the UK, all the locations so far seem to be high res

Edit:

There doesn't seem to be any posts on here realting to any of them apart from the Exorcist

Yep, I just did a quick search and noticed that too.

Thats why I just edited my last post , but you replied before I removed it..

So as a possible replacement I would like to add:

Dogma (1999) [IMDB]

Never Found ? Eh ehe he

I'm kidding . Just see my tour with all locations visited by me (also a dynamic html with googleearth code) here:

www.ritornoalfuturodalvero.com

I admit you were the first to post here those locations, but on the web I was the first one.
