I couldn't figure out how you set the vertices at different altitudes using the available tools in GE plus.Opening the KML file, the coordinates are given in lat, long, alt. Is this a file hack, using some other program to perform a matrix transform?

hmmm.... do I reveal my tricks... ?
It's actually not that hard, having now made an Excel converter (see attached).
a) Find the location of a corner of your "vertical" polygon. In my case, it was the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
b) Set your camera North and 90 degrees.
c) Draw a polygon with the tool, at that location, flat on the ground, with all points north of the corner.
d) Save this out to a KML. Copy the coordinates to a list in Excel.
e) Now you need to reverse the Latitude to an Altitude. This means you have to first normalize all points (Subtract the southern most value from them all, then divide by the overal height of the polygon). Then multiply by the altitute you want it.
For Godzilla, I subtracted something like 37.796 and multiplied by 100,000, which came out just about right).
f) Dump it into a new KML with the correct Polygon type, and there you go.
The only limitation is the polygon is in an east-west plane.
Next up for King Kong (ahem) is to have it at an angle.
Anyone want to model a biplane?

Very Smart!
It is interesting that hacked polygon coordinates show up well, though they are not always easily edited using the tools. This suggests that the tools could be developed to do what you have done manually.
I am most impressed by your Washington Monument, where you used several adjusted polygons to define the angled sides.
I'd love to be able to import simple polygon models with texture mapping.
Thank you for the Excel tool, and sharing your excellent creative mind.
