Located in Berlin, Germany between the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (thanks MaeX) and the now destroyed Moorish-style synagogue (thanks Armistead) is what may well be the largest Fussball table in the world! As the attached placemark shows, it is easily visible in the latest Google Earth database update. You can see the rods, handles, and goals. What you can't see so clearly are the players, who are Berlin Bears in the uniforms of various teams as shown below in a few photos from tonight.

The roller bearing that makes it all possible

The whole idea is fabulous -- Art (this sculpture/game) immitating Life (the table game) immitating Life (the Footbal sport) -- and all of it celebrating both Football (the local mania especially now in advance of the WorldCup) and the local Berliner Bear icon! Sehr gut.

So is it fully functional or is it just a decoration?

Fully functional. Every weekend they have DJ's, music, team competition, and of course, beer. After all, this is Germany: everything is well engineered.
