ComputaMaps have produced a 3d model covering part of the city of Cape Town, South Africa. We use sketch-up and silvereye to extract building heights from Quickbird imagery by Digital Globe. We will be exhibiting at Geoweb 2006 in Vancouver, BC 26-28 July.

This is great! We are having several Pilots running on city like Rotterdam and Amsterdam. To be served with our upcoming release of M3D Glider.

Would you care trying to integrate your Cape Town into a Pilot? I am sure my brother in Cape Town would be grateful!

Great work with the 3D buildings for Cape Town. I like the idea of using a more colorful representation instead of the boring gray 3D buildings Google uses by default. I've written about your collection at the Google Earth Blog.

Read the story here.

Hi guys,

It has been some time since Cape Town was shown in Full Color!

Well some time has passed and I would like to give the link to our new website geo-games.eu (all under construction so don't be too harsh, especially IE users among us..).

It has been a lot of work, not everthing matches even our own ambitions - ...just yet. Enjoy a work in progress.

We are active under geo-games.eu . Release on sept. 17 2006.

And No!:
We are not planning to use anybody's 3D models in our M3D Glider beta release (this fall when everything goes as planned) without giving full copyright credentials and specs.
We believe in quality content and foster the creative talents behind it (once in a while, yes, one of our own, but surely not so many times around).

For now, all constructive feed-back to geo-games.eu is very much appreciated (all positive and of course less positive).

More to come..

Jerome,

Many many many thanks to Bernhard, for his Globe Glider technologies and to Jason at ZNO for his great architectural buildings, designed from Down Under.
