This file provides a parse of the NGDC database of hot springs in the US. Over 1500 springs are included from the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, TX, UT, WA, and WY. Springs in this file are categorized by states, with each state having its own folder.
NOTE: The information in this file is a direct parse of the NGDC database. As such, there are errors in the plots of many of the springs in this database. If you have more accurate information on the location and/or amplifying information on the conditions at individual springs, please post that information here so that others may benefit from your knowledge.

I noticed your post for the Rocky Canyon Hot Springs which is located along the middle fork of the Payette River north of the town of Crouch in Idaho. About 10 years ago I came upon a nearly frozen couple who had driven their Blazer past the "no wheeled vehicle" sign about 4 miles into the forest during the middle of winter. Of course, they were stuck. It was 4:30 pm and about 15 degrees. I gave them ride to Crouch and $600 later they were able to retrieve their Blazer

I find your multiple posting of the same feature, often not even close to where the feature is, VERY annoying. Nice idea but your execution lacks precision and discipline.

For Mr. Cro-magnon man, here's a tip: Enter the following into your browser; preferably Google; US Hot Springs - NGDC Database , being very careful not to include the comma. Once you hit send, then you will find a selection of website URL's to choose from. The one flyguy99 was trying to assist us all with, including the ignorant and lazy among us, follows: Thermal Springs List for the United States Use this form to search the NGDC Thermal Springs Database. ... This compilation was supported in part by the U.S. National Science Foundation under grant ... http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/nndc/servlet/Sh...;display_look=1 Now, how simple is that? You're obviously a bit lazy or you would have figured it out all by your lonesome. So much for the power of deductive reasoning. Unfortunately common sense isn't a class they teach in our Halls of Higher Education. You have proved that you are indeed educated by your vocabulary. But you have also proved that there are plenty of educated idiots among us, also. And YOU found flyguy VERY ANNOYING? I find YOU very annoying. I just hope that in some small way, I've returned the favor.

Or you could have just shown the poster the right way with out the criticism. It's google, not a treasure map.

A lot of springs in Oregon don't exist or are not anywhere near they should be. I know from having covered a lot of OR backcountry on foot and vehicle. There are a ton of REGULAR cold springs, but not very many hot ones, but are listed as hot springs.
