A rather eerie overlay here: A British Air Force 1944 aerial photograph showing the Auschwitz concentration camp. I am not sure whether I have placed it completely correct, because there is some difference between the photograph and the GoogleEarth photograph - apparently the camp was changed either in the last year of war or afterward.
