Hi, I am tyring to load mulitple overlays into my Google Earth Enterprise Client software. I am using the File->Import selection to do this.

Loading one image is fine, but GE cannot seem to display two images on the screen. Is this a Google Earth issue or could I be doing something wrong?

If your two imported overlays are very large (eg: they were geotiffs and downsampled to 4Kx4K) you're video card may not be able to hold both in video memory. (96M would be needed just for those two overlays, not including the rest of the video memory used by GE).

Beyond that, two overlays _should_ work.

Hello - I have the same problem. I cannot load multiple overlays, even when the overlay files are very!! small (png files which show some objects, each png file not larger than little 5 KB !!!).
The effect is: when I add a 2nd overlay file ('add overlay') the first one disapears.
This is nonsens !
I do not understand ! Obviously GE4 only supports only ONE overlay file !?
Or what do I wrong !?
Thanks.
Regards,
Klaus

Additional Note 23. Jan 2007:

Hello - I think I know the reason why one cannot load multiple overlays:

When you ADD another overlay from the main(!) menu bar in Google Earth (top screen menu icon list) , then additional overlays are replacing existing ones. New overlays appear on the left hand 'locations bar' with a toggling dot-mark activation check box. When you seldct one all the others disappear.

But when you select a new overlay directly from the left 'locations bar' (e.g. under a new folder by right clicking and selecting a 'new overlay'), then multiple overlays are all visible. The difference is that the new overlays appear with a squared check box (not a toggling round dot box as it appears when selecting the new overlay from the main menu bar) and you can simultaniously activate alle the different overlays objects. As long as they are checked (activated) all overlays appear simultaniously.

But I have no idea why there is such a fundamental difference in using the same function if selected from different origins from the GE GUI interface. A little bit confusing !

Klaus
