Sampling locations for the Summer 2006 field season (URSI).

Vassar Farm Trails - 1997

Here are some trails collected back in about 1997 by Troy Welty using a big Trimble GPS receiver. Some of the trails have changed substantialy, but it gives an idea where the trails sort of exist.

This is the Casperkill watershed basin.

An English professor used this 1562 map from Library of Congress Maps
web site in a class, though she didn't use Google Earth. I made a quick KMZ out of it, to see if she'd like to use that in the future.

The cartographer is Diego Guti�rrez and the description says "Americae sive qvartae orbis partis nova et exactissima descriptio / avtore Diego Gvtiero Philippi Regis Hisp. etc. Cosmographo ; Hiero. [deleted] excvde 1562 ; Hieronymus [deleted] excude cum gratia et priuilegio 1562."

A recent student did a nice job of mapping/digitizing the paved sections of the Vassar campus. Here are three of the things she mapped. The first is Parking .
