New feature of Superoverlay Plus. Example.
Selections by area of interests (AOI). We can use Points, Lines, Polygons for selections.
http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=693167

1. Place overlays in GE for georeference
2. Create AOI

3. Run Superoverlay. Add overlays and selections.

4. Generate superoverlays

Why doesn't it reduce the resolution of the images? Shouldn't all the levels be lower resolution than the original image?

For example, I used SuperOverlay on a a 6,000 x 8,000 pixel map. The 1st level generated by SuperOverlay was 6,000 x 8,000. The second level 3000 x 4,000, the 3rd level was 1,500 x 2000, the 4th level was 750 x 1,000 and the 5th level was 375 x 500.

But they should all be 375 x 500. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Hi Matt, hi Valery,

I found out that on the second run all bigger images are reduced. On the first run I have the same result as Matt. I did not complain about because I prefer the reduction using IrfanView.

I test now this for JPG. 5 LOD also. All files have one size (300*300 pixels).
You can send to me link or other parameters for this image?

Thanks!

I tried experimenting and updated with most recent version.

Now I receive an error that says "File XYZ0.jpg is blocked by another process" when I convert using JPG or TIF after it creates all of the files. I don't have anything else running that might be using the file and I can delete it with Explorer while the error box is still up. If I do the exact same thing with PNG or GIF it does not give that error. But it still does not reduce the file sizes.

I also found that the problem seems to happen with using TIF/PRJ/TFW files for input. But JPG/PRJ/JGW as input file works fine and reduces the file sizes as it should. So maybe it's just a problem with TIFF.

Here is an example file that does not work.

Also, I also don't mind because I also use Irfanview to do the reduction. So if you fix the problem maybe leave an option to not reduce the file sizes for those of us that want to us another program for that.

Matt

Part of this bug now fixed.
Problem with indexed colors (8bit png and gif images).
Stored problem with resize of indexed images. Now we use 24bit images for low-resolution. I think near time we can fix this also.
Thanks!
