This Flight Simulation includes a practice scramble from Elmendorf AFB and low altitude awareness training (flying low in the rocks!) in the Revelation Mountains in a military training area west of Anchorage, Alaska. I flew a profile (with real world training events, but I left those out here) similar to this for many airmen who were awarded "incentive rides" or "orientation rides" in the F-15 Eagle while stationed at Elmendorf AFB. Most of them wanted to do three things: 1. Go straight up and straight down. 2. Break the sound barrier. 3. Pull 9 Gs. Due to the limitations of Google Earth, we won't be able to go straight up, but down we can handle. At some point we will at least look like we are moving supersonic, but if you feel any G forces greater then ONE, you've had too much to drink! Anyway, enjoy the flight! (Oh yeh, there's a bonus... YOU shouldn't need a barf bag!)

Take a turbo-powered helicopter ride from McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, fly down the strip and up treacherous Boy Scout Canyon to Hoover Dam, then touch down in the Sam Boyd Stadium parking lot (like the jet-setter that you are) to catch a Rebels game. BYOTP. (That's "Bring Your Own Tailgate Party!) Hopefully your pilot hasn't been to the pre-game warm-up, because he'll need to be alert for this one! (Recommend Terrain and Buildings ON, Geographic Features OFF. Even more dramatic if you use F11 to run it full screen.)

This is a flyover I created using KML path generator, found at... http://dev.bt23.org/keyhole/pathgen/I really like the path generator because it eleminates the "Rabbit Hops". The best settings to view this file are... Tools, then Options, then Control, then click the Advanced button. Under Driving Directions Tour Options, put 70.0 in camera tilt angle and 1500.0 for the camera range. The speed is up to you. This file really gets you down in between the canyons... Beautiful country!

Taking advantage of an undocumented feature--may not work in the future.. I had an earlier version of this little tour. that I liked better, but the images were replaced by updated data. but this one is still (in my opinion) good for a little wow!. Make sure the elevation exaggeration is set to 1, and the speed is set very slow. Also, it helps to load the cache by making a slow pass over the placemarks before running the tour. Might also be a good idea to set down your coffee.

With no known exceptions, the cost of internal trust, efficiency and loyalty is external distrust. The "us against them" is not an optional feature, if there were some way to preserve the loyalties and the tremendous benefits of internal trust without paying the cost of the ferocious xenophobia, then that would be just what we want to do. But we don't know how to do that.
