I'm trying to get my system set up - does it work with a USB GPS reciever? Mine is microsoft brand, but i'm sure it's made by pharos. . .

How would i determine what com port to select?

Thanks for making this - it's brilliant!

I am working on a SOAP-Enterprise based solution with GPS-GSM/IRIDIUM combo devices and Network feeds. If anyone wants a hobbyist version I am happy to downgrade and put up a server.

Cheers,
Tisham.

Can you confirm if the next version will support additional COM ports ?

I have a Bluetooth Serial Port (COM6) connected Tom Tom GPS. The device outputs NMEA fine to other apps but would very much wish to utilise it with GE as well.

Thx
Andy

Always willing to help.

Is anyone hav ing troubles with "XX is not an integer". I think there are some GPSs out there which output rogue NMEA sentences. If anyone gets this fault, could they please post or PM me a text dump of their NMEA stream (capture in hyperterminal). I would also like details of their GPS model please.

How many com ports do blue tooth items support?

regards

John Scott

I downloaded the tracker, unzipped it to a folder, hooked up my Garmin 60CS to the USB port, started the kml-file------but nothing happened except an errormessage from the dynamic link in GE. Did I do something wrong? Maybe I need a serial conection?

Your Garmin should have come with virtual COM port support with the USB driver. You need to make sure the driver is installed and the virtual COM port is active. You can also try the tracker in my signature. It does basically the same thing but has a more detailed connection status that might help you figure out what is going on.

The output from the GPS has to be NMEA (serial). Garmin don't seem to be supporting NMEA in their latest offerings.

sorry about that.

The 60CS does support NMEA - just not through USB, you must use the serial connection.
