Oh, wow. Gotta be careful here. I've never tread on virgin territory before.

Guess I'll take the honor of the first post here with one of Olympus Mons. Not just the largest volcano on Mars, one of the largest in the solar system. At over 15 miles high, 340 miles in diameter and sitting on a 4 mile high scarp, it dwarfs 6 mile high Mauna Loa.

artist conception of a dust storm rolling down the flanks.

cool, was able too add one more image before the edit window closed...

Should I load an overlay? Press a button someplace...?

Somewhere in the Cydonia region is located the "Face of Mars".

Don't know exactly where it is... i think it's a very small rock formation. More info u can find on this Site... for example.

Big big thanx & congratulation to Keyhole for this amazing gift!!!!
by the way where i can get a 10-years-subscription for EV?!

The attached .eta is centered over the "face", which is immediately to the SE of "Apt", or 42.5 miles NE of the Cydonia Mensae label. If you know how to use lat/lon points, you'll find it at roughly 40.9 N 9.45 W.

The combination of relatively small size of the formations and the low res of the area make it nearly impossible to see anything of detail. If anyone wants to try an overlay, a good pic can be found here or here. Good luck finding the points to line up..

An excellent debunking of "The Cydonia Mensae Conspiracy" can be found HERE.

Well, this is where I think it goes. You can make out one flank of the D&M Pyramid to the south. Take into account that most of the stock images are north east oriented. So I believe this is the correct placement but the wrong orientation. Could be wrong, but it's a good looking image. Wish the whole planet was like that! Oh, wait a minute. One planet at a time, now...

Overlay is a high res color image. Zoom out and the face comes into view!

I love the high-rez image! Here's my attempt based on one of the images submitted by esterrett. It seems to line up pretty well. I used photoshop to adjust it and add some color. It's my first attempt at an overlay. What do you think?
