Well, I still can't get a server to work, so I dump my kml file in NMEAtoKML's "web" folder, and use NMEAtoKML as the server. If anyone wants t try it, a zip is at

The program should open with the internet option set and VE3TEN as the callsign. Hit the "grab data now" button, and if NMEAtoKML and GE are running, and GE points to NMEAtoKML's gps file, it should fly to Ottawa airport's weather station. Let me know if my app doesn't open, I haven't tried a proper distribution with all the files VB6 might need. I'll try to figure out how to do that.

BTW, I'm using NMEAtoKML, not NMEA2KML!

Finally dawned...

After trying, and failing, to create a server on 127.0.0.1, realized GE doesn't need a URL to grab network data, you can substitute a path to a file!!

So my app is simplifed, doesn't need to run another program; all self-contained.

I can plot APRS data/tracks like mad! I'll stick the code into another app (or maybe add it to this current app) to plot data directly from a gps. It will be posted later.

i tried configuring the gps portion of google earth with my holux gpc reciever 231...but the options i get are of magellan and one other.. im using Bluetooth on com 5 but the google earth doesnt skip and gives an error that magellan gps reciever not found... how can i make my holux gps reciever work

I tried your program and I can't seem to figure out how to get the program and my garmin quest to connect.... I believe I'm on COM 3.. I don't know what baud I am... I have a Garmin Quest.... You say turn off GARMIN MODE?? I have Normal and WAAS.... Suggestion and help would be great!
