Requests to the load balancer from my previous update were being cached via my SquidCache in my router. This resulted in some bad images for you guys I'm sure. I've fixed that by changing the Cache policy of the request to always pull a fresh copy from the load balancer.

Are there any SST anomaly charts available which could be added to the layer?

Was working on it, but work(paycheck type) got in the way. Will see what I can do this weekend. I have all of the historic data downloaded, but it's not in the same format or resolution as the live data, so it's a bit more tedious to make it apples to apples so that the anomaly data makes sense. I'll keep you posted, and thanks for asking.

Regards,

Paul

Updated 05/17/2007 - Added Lightning Strike data. I noticed a problem with the new version of GoogleEarth client where the Lightning legend all of the sudden resizes itself...only workaround I have right now is to restart GoogleEarth. See screenshot at end of first post.
YOU MUST RE-DOWNLOAD THE FILE ATTACHED TO THE FIRST POST!

Any way to get the lightning legend to just go away? If I click to get rid of it next time it reloads it comes back.

Yeah I'll expose the legends next time around....is it not showing up correctly for you? I think the weirdness with it randomly resizing only happens with the very latest GE client (4.1.7076.4458). It always starts out looking OK, and then freaks out sometime later. Anyone have any idea why? The code for the legend is below...

Code:

<ScreenOverlay>
<name>Lightning Legend</name>
<Icon>
<href>http://www.paulseabury.com/light_legend.png</href>
</Icon>
<overlayXY x="0" y="1" xunits="fraction" yunits="fraction" />
<screenXY x="0.05" y="0.1325" xunits="fraction" yunits="fraction" />
<size x="0" y="0" xunits="fraction" yunits="fraction" />
</ScreenOverlay>

It was confirmed that this behaviour is a bug in the current release. I may wait to hear about the possibility of it being fixed in the next release before I change the layer.

Link to discussion about bug.

Looks like they changed the lightning format on me without saying anything. I'm aware that you're not seeing any lightning data, and I'm looking into it.

Hard to believe it's already hurricane season again! Just a few days away.
