I spent an entire winter exploring this region a few years back. Host to some of the largest ski resorts in the world, this famous region just blew me away. What more can I say? Amazing!

This is close to an all inclusive Ski Resort list for Tirol. It is my list of Resorts that I have skied at, so I may have miss a couple. Each Region lists the Ski Resort Region's statistics including: number of lifts, vertical drop, skiable acres, etc.

All of my posts (North American Ski Resorts, South American Ski Resorts & European Ski Resorts - Austria - Tirol) show each Ski Resort as a 'tilt view'. This is similar to what the Artists have tried to portray in trailmaps for decades. With the exception of a few 360 degree, single Resort Mountains (ie. Mammoth, Bachelor, etc.) you will see the entire Resort's complex. Bear in mind that summer time satelite images, above treeline resorts and low rez. areas effect what you can actually see. Some Resort Areas are amazing high rez. (check out Valle Nevado in Chile - lifts and all). Regardless, you will be able to view all of my Resort views much like a trailmap with a some what more accurate vertical relief, unlike many of our Ski Resort's Artist's versions. "Flying' from Resort to Resort (from my Region's Collections) is a lot of fun and it gives an overall sense of the Mountain Ranges that include these Resorts.

All though some may say it's a bit out of the way, I think it's totally worth it. Hintertux offers 21 cable cars and ski lifts, with a 5,779 ft. vertical on 55,106 skiable acres of terrain, including the Hintertuxier Glacier.

OK, so it's not really in the Tyrolian Alps, yet it is mostly in Austria and a heck of a great mountain to ski. Fun town as well.

Innsbruck Austria has twice hosted the Olympic Games (1964 & 1972). There are 7 Ski Resorts in this region, boasting a total of 4,954 ft. vertical, 59 Lifts and 58 marked runs in addition to the world famous Stubai Glacier. The region includes the Resorts of Seefeld/Reith, Nordpark/Seegrube, Glungezer, Patscherkofel, Skipark Mutters, Schlick 2000 and Stubaier-Gletscher totaling to 31,136 acres of skiable terrain.

A massive inter-connected ski resort complex, Otztal Valley boasts 67 cable cars and ski lifts, 162 miles of marked ski trails, unlimited off-pista terrain, year-round snow sports on 2 glaciers (Rettenbach & Tiefenbach) and 6,270 ft. vertical. The region contains the Resorts of Solden, Hochsolden, Zwielselstein, Vent, Untergurgl, Hochgurgl and Obergurgl totaling to 39,785 acres of skiable terrain. A beautiful ski resort complex with huge verticals, The Pitztal Region boasts 19 cable cars and ski lifts and over 40 marked runs as well as unlimited off-pista areas on 5,945 ft. vertical. The Region includes the Resorts of Hochzeiger, Rifflsee and Pitztal Glacier totaling to over 21,004 acres of skiable terrain. I also happen to know that you can ski off the 'back side' of the Rettenbachjoch Quad Chair (Hochsolden) in the Otztal Region and thereby ski into the Pitztal Valley. Note, I would not recommend access from the Tiefenbach Glacier side of Hochsolden (due South), unless you are with a guide and experienced in glacial travel, the Pitztal Glacier is enroute.

A massive ski resort complex, The Silvretta Region boasts 66 cable cars and ski lifts and over 143 miles of marked runs as well as unlimited off-pista areas on 4,921 ft. vertical. The Region includes the Resorts of Ischgl, Samnaun, Galtur, Kappl and See totaling to over 59,191 acres of skiable terrain. Ischgl (Austria) connects with Samnaun (Switzerland), got your pasport handy? haha.

A massive inter-connected ski resort complex, The Alberg Region boasts 83 cable cars and ski lifts, 281 miles of marked ski trails, unlimited off-pista terrain, and 5,234 ft. vertical. The region contains the Resorts of St. Jakob, St. Anton, Oberdorf/Rendl, Stuben, St. Christoph, Zurs, Zug, Lech and Oberlech totaling to over 64,249 acres of skiable terrain.
