I visited the Castle Air Museum on March 3 this year and photographed all of the planes. I've marked each separately, added the photo I took, and included the museum's text for each aircraft.

Be sure to check out the "Unidentified Alien Spacecraft" they have stored in the weeds behind the museum.

Castle Air Museum aircraft in my collection that were previously posted:

smokeater- B-36
Hill - C47 & B-23
sasroodkapje - EB57E
Sphinx27 - Vulcan B.2
SOC - F-4, F-102, B-47, F-106, F-101 & F-102
Atlantis - SR-71

Not often you're lost for words, Desmo

And yup, it's a nice job, kjfitz - thanks for the photos. Got to be worth a few globes!

Cheers

Frank

Nice post. My guess is that the "Unidentified Alien Spacecraft" is an old simulator they trashed when the Air Force moved off of the base. Castle was a Combat Crew Training School base where Strategic Air Command trained lots of B-52 and KC-135 aircrew members. They used flight simulators extensively. It looks a little like many of the simulators I used as a C-130 Navigator before I retired from the Air Force a couple of years back.

Great post and thanks for all the hard work that went into it.

Thanks. I just called castle Air Museum and talked to a few people. All agreed that it is a simulator. One person said he was told by the restoration team that it is an Apache helicopter simulator.

Very nice ill have to visit one time. You know if you liked this place you would probably like Wright-Patterson AFB Museum......Except that this is the National Airforce Museum, so no navy planes, you gotta love the animosity.
