Yesterday evening I felt a mild-to-moderate earthquake. In a few minutes, when I came back home, I checked the USGS earthquake data layer in GE. It showed the location and magnitude of the earthquake, marked red (happened within the last hour).

Only after several hours it was announced in the news. The data regarding mag and location was a little different (I'm not sure which one in more accurate.

Although this is not surprising, I post this as I thought it might be interesting to some members.

lebios,
Try this site:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/recenteqsww/catalogs/eqs7day-M2.5_src.kml

and download the kml file you prefer (>1mag, >2.5mag, etc) and that's it!
It gathers earthquake data all around the world into the GE. It is refreshed every 5 minutes.
