I downloaded and installed Google Earth yesterday and had no trouble using the application. Today I tried to open the application and I receive the following error:

**************************************
Google Earth could not contact the authentication server to activate your session.

The application will continue to operate but will only display data available locally (in cache).
To retry session activation, you should verify your network connection and restart the application.

Error code: 1e

When I went to the Google Earth download site I received this message:

**************************************
We're sorry...
... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.

ANY IDEAS FOR WHAT I SHOULD DO?

THANKS

It's pretty bad when you answer your own questions but I solved my problem...

I read some posts that discussed problems with Google rejecting an IP address or range of addresses. Therefore, I shut down my Verizon DSL router and restarted after a few minutes. The router was now assigned a new IP address by Verizon and when I restarted Google Earth I was able to log in.

Actually, that makes you a bit smarter than the average light bulb. Good work!

And good solution to the problem.

I also wonder why you didn't get any help at 6 AM on a Saturday morning... Come on, we should be working 24/7.

I have a static IP address. Is there a reason Google Earth is blocking some IP's?
Is there a solution other than changing IP addresses?
