I have been adding more photo's to the Geograph site and have now loaded all the Pillbox photo's I have taken into my Flickr account. you need to look up backstreet crawler. The pillboxes I have taken are from along the River Thames from Moulsford to Shillingford. I have still a few more to photograph but I will get them eventally.

I've updated the kmz file to include the Geograph images above and some more of my own discoveries in the User Submitted section.

I've got some additions here - there were a number of Maunsell forts placed in the mouth of the Thames - here is a file of them.

Thanks to Bob LeRoi for his page at http://www.bobleroi.co.uk/ScrapBook/CityReunion/FortFanatics.html

with locations.

Phil

Thanks Phil

Since you have posted a KML I will not include it in the DOB file so as not to duplicate the placemarks. These almost deserve a seperate thread anyway they are so unusual.

Cheers

Steve

I've updated the kmz file to the latest version. This includes a few more user submitted sites and I've now trawled the more accessible online county HERs and added any sites that were not included in the original project. Notably, many more sites on the Taunton stop line and around the Tyne and Wear area. I also found Geograph was a very useful resource for finding new and positioning old sites so there is now a section for these with links to the relevant Geograph page. Finally with new imagery in Scotland I've corrected the positions of many of the scottish sites.

I've just updated the kmz file with locations of all the known Heavy Anti Aircraft Batteries. Many thanks to Martin Briscoe (J_M_B) for allowing me to use his placemark set as a basis for this addition.

Last update for a while. The layer now contains many more sites from all the online HER's. I'll continue to add sites as more HER's come online and can be easily checked.
