Padre Jaime served as pastor of Sierra Mojada for more than thirty years. The writer, Ambrose Bierce, is the famous Gringo Viejo (Old Gringo) immortalized by Carlos Fuentes in his novel by that name, and later also by Gregory Peck in the film version of the same.
