This region is located in Austria, Vorarlberg and is part of the Silvretta mountain range. The place of interest for this demonstration is the so-called Bieler Hoehe.

The geodata provided by Google Earth lacks high resolution overlays for this part of Austria, it seems as if they are using some sort of 30m LANDSAT images here.

Just as high quality overlays are not provided, so are high resolution elevation models not available, where the overlays are mapped onto. It seems as if ~90m resolution SRTM elevation data is used in this case.
Doing so makes some significant morphologic formations to disappear - to demonstrate this, I have created a 10m resolution elevation model so you can see the difference between 10m and 90m elevation models in hyperglobes like Google Earth.
