This is an quite interesting picture.

We got an small Piramid on the base of the big mounten ribs, well its no piramid it just looks that way a bit.
In the mounten strip uderneeth we can see/ imagen lots of piramids.,
with time and wear and tear i dont believe in piramids on mars no more.

when we look at the Mars photo`s from NASA then we see a stunning example of the same objects found on the both planets

Hi everyone!

Since the arrival of ESA's Mars Express at Mars in December 2003, Terabytes of high-resolution images have been taken of the Red Planet. (More info on Mars Express)

I downloaded some of the raw images, processed them and created a few new layers for Google Earth.

Click Here for a preview of how it will look in Google (animated gif)

If you enjoy this as well, do the following:

  • Disable all layers in Google Earth to avoid confusion
  • Download the general Mars Map here. (NASA map)
  • Download the image strip of orbit 511. High-res or Medium-res.
  • Download the image strip of orbit 533. High-res or Medium-res.
  • Open the downloaded files in Google Earth (file->open)

The colors were adjust manually. You will see some strange colouring, but I guess that is due to the fact that I am not a scientist..

Drop me a note if you find any alien lifeforms :P

Florito.

OK so this is pretty cool, but what about the 3D undulations of Mars?

Hey, I downloaded the placemark. Ok. Now, how do I have to do to turn the Google Earth back to usual view?

You can answer on: alexandre.professor@gmail.com

Thanks

Alexandre.

Go to the same place you turned the overlay on, and uncheck it. You should be back home (to Earth)!

To get a more complete picture of Mars Topography, I used the USGS Topography Map of Mars to make a superoverlay...

Theres a radio buton folder with references.

I also included the North and South Topographys Polar projections:

Tips: As Im using the Earth globe to represent Mars, uncheck everything that belongs to our planet; atmosphere, layers, etc.

Please, be patient...its a slow server....

Will there be a google Moon and a Google mars when the European space agency and NASA finally map out the entire globes of our moon and mars? and in years to come, will the moons of Jupiter or Saturn be mapped out as well
