what is this object it is very strange can someone identify it??

Sorry ta burst ya bubble, but by my reckoning, this appears to be a civilian or otherwise, Radio antenna. The brighter patches you see are unmown areas around the support wire staunchions, with the classic triangular support shape, as well as a hint of a mast in the center. In the picture there, you can also make out, with a level of distinction the shadow cast by the antenna, at around the 7oclock position.
Not military methinks, otherwise it would be nearer a defence force base, or have some sort of guard post.

This object has already been identifyed here, it is a US military installation to control two of five geostationary satellites.


If you find something in GE that you can't explain, the possibility exist that another member had already made the same find before, and that the question arising thereby has already been answered.

To check this you can enable your GEC-layers like you see in the picture below.



If you discover that you have mistakenly added a duplicate placemark, It is good GEC etiquette to remove it by editing your post and choosing the "DELETE PLACEMARK" option.

Please take a look at this strange figures found in the southeast part of Brazil. They are all located in an ore mine field ran by CVRD (Companhia Vale do Rio Doce).

Hi there.
Thanks for the pointers, i already have them enabled, and i beilieve this object has not been identified.
My reasoning is as followed.
1) There is no access road, no security, no sign of a military base or installation whatsoever.
2) Using the ruler, it measures only about 160 km north. Which, unless the Aust Army made a big mistake, its nowhere near the 360km stated in the article above.
3) This also happens to be directly near a major flightpath into Perth from Broome and Darwin. Can anyone confirm this? I believe we are looking at a simple, non-military transmitter.
4) If you read the article, you'll see that the base was announced in february 2007. Even the US military isnt that fast. There is no way it could be underway, let alone completed by now.
5) A google search turns up information that it's to be constructed near Geraldton. Geraldton is a long, long way from Emu Flat.
